02 Jun Things to do in Merimbula in winter
The mild, sunny winters in Merimbula allow many outdoor and indoor activities for families to enjoy outside of the busy summer period (and away from the crowds!). We have put together a list of things to do in Merimbula in winter which will keep Mum, Dad and the kids entertained!
Visit Magic Mountain
Have a great day out with the kids with heaps of rides, slides and thrills for kiddies of all ages. While the kids are playing, mum and dad can enjoy a coffee or meal from the old Melbourne tram. Alternatively take a picnic or BBQ along (entry to the park is free) and watch the kids enjoy all the rides or the zip-lines on the more adventurous Tree Climb Challenge.
The kids will love Merimbula’s own aquarium at Merimbula Wharf; only a minute from the Cabins.
The aquarium is set below the fabulous Wharf Restaurant and specializes in local Sapphire Coast species across 27 tanks.
Mum and dad can relax over a coffee or a delicious meal upstairs while the kids are enthralled with the show below.
Regular fish-feeding sessions are worth seeing!
Book a Cruise or Boat Tour:
Merimbula Marina (in Merimbula) and Cat Balou (Eden) both offer cruises to explore the magnificent local coastline. Most trips encounter dolphins and seals as part of the experience. Toward the end of winter and early spring, experience the incredible Southern Migration of the mighty Humpback Whales.
For a boat tour with a difference, book with Captain Sponge’s Magical Oyster Tour. Learn all about how oysters are formed, cultivated and harvested for our enjoyment!

for kiddies, to long day rides or overnight camp outs. Get a 360 degree view of the Bega Valley from horseback for a great day out!
